Quick Start Guide
This guide walks you through setting up your DM Champ account and launching your first campaign. The guided onboarding wizard handles most of the heavy lifting for you, so you can be up and running in minutes.
Quick-Start Checklist
1. Create Your Account
Go to dmchamp.com.
Sign up with your email, Google, Apple, or GitHub account.
Check your inbox and click the verification link to activate your account.
2. Complete the Guided Onboarding Wizard
When you log in for the first time, the guided onboarding wizard launches automatically. This is the recommended way to get started - it walks you through everything in one smooth flow:
Pick your industry and use case so DM Champ can tailor your setup.
Connect a messaging channel - scan a QR code for WhatsApp Web, buy a phone number for SMS, or link your Facebook and Instagram accounts. See WhatsApp Web, Phone Numbers, or Facebook & Instagram for details on each channel.
Import your contacts from a CSV file or add them manually.
Analyze your website - paste your URL and DM Champ reads your site to auto-generate bot instructions and FAQs for you.
Create your first campaign - the wizard builds a campaign using your industry, use case, and website content. Review the AI-generated instructions and adjust them to match your brand voice.
Set up follow-ups - configure automated follow-up messages for contacts who do not reply.
Set up booking (if applicable) - connect Google Calendar and set your availability so the bot can book appointments automatically.
By the end of the wizard, your campaign is live and ready to go. See Guided Onboarding for a full breakdown of every step.
3. Test Your Setup
Once the wizard is complete, send yourself a test message on your connected channel to make sure the bot replies correctly. This lets you experience the conversation from your customer's perspective and catch anything that needs adjusting.
4. Review and Refine
After testing, take a few minutes to fine-tune:
Bot instructions - Review the auto-generated instructions and make any tweaks to better match your tone and goals. See AI Bot Setup.
FAQs - Add more questions and answers beyond what the website analysis generated. Aim for at least 5-10 FAQs. The more you add, the better your bot performs. See FAQ Management.
5. Add More Channels (Optional)
If you started with one channel during onboarding, you can add more at any time:
Buy a phone number for WhatsApp and SMS in Settings > Phone Numbers. See Phone Numbers.
Connect Facebook & Instagram to handle Messenger and Instagram DMs. See Facebook & Instagram.
Add a Chat Widget to let visitors message you from your website. See Chat Widget.
6. Go Live and Monitor Results
Your campaign is already live from the onboarding wizard. Now keep an eye on how it performs:
Incoming campaigns are active immediately. Customers can message you and the bot responds.
Outgoing campaigns need a contact list and must be submitted for approval before sending. See the outgoing campaign section for details.
Check your results on the Dashboard - see how many messages were sent, delivered, read, and replied to.
What to Explore Next
Once your first campaign is running, try these features to get more out of DM Champ:
Automated Follow-Ups - Fine-tune your follow-up sequences beyond the initial setup.
Booking System - Let your bot schedule appointments automatically.
Custom Functions - Build advanced automations (for example, look up order status or generate a quote).
Webhooks - Send automatic notifications to your other tools when something happens in DM Champ (for example, a new booking or a tagged contact).
Dashboard - Track how your campaigns are performing.
