# Setup Alerts

Setup alerts are short messages that tell you when something stops your AI agent from answering your customers, together with the step that fixes it. They catch the quiet problems: a channel that was never connected, an agent that was switched off, an account that ran out of credits.

---

## Where to Find Setup Alerts

**How to get there:** Settings → **Notifications** group → **Notifications** → **Setup alerts** card.

The card has an on and off switch and a field for the WhatsApp number the alerts go to.

---

## Where the Alerts Go

- **WhatsApp**, to the number you gave during onboarding or entered in the **Setup alerts** card.
- **Email**, to your account email, when no WhatsApp number is set.

---

## When You Get an Alert

| Situation | What the alert says |
|---|---|
| **No channel connected yet** | Your agent has nowhere to answer from yet, with a link to connect your first channel. |
| **People write on a channel and the agent answers none of them** | The alert names the reason, for example the agent is switched off, no agent is assigned to that channel, test mode is on, the messages came in outside active hours, or the account is out of credits. |
| **A busy channel goes quiet or disconnects** | A channel that normally receives messages has stopped receiving them, or shows as disconnected, with the step to reconnect it. |
| **Weekly summary** | Once your agent is active, a short weekly summary of what it did, for example "handled 42 conversations, booked 6 calls". |

Agency accounts also get an alert when no client account is live yet, with a link to your hosted demo page so you can show a prospect a working agent. See [Showing a Prospective Client a Live Demo](../agency/agency-accounts.md#showing-a-prospective-client-a-live-demo).

### The Fix it link

When the agent answers nobody on a channel, the alert carries a one tap **Fix it** link. It changes only the one setting the alert is about (for example it switches the agent on, assigns it to the channel, or turns test mode off) and then opens the app so you can check the result.

After the fix, new chats on that channel get the agent. Chats you are already handling by hand keep their current state, so the agent never jumps into a conversation you took over.

---

## How Often Alerts Come

- **At most one alert every 48 hours.**
- **At most two alerts about the same issue.** After the second one, that issue stays quiet.
- **They stop as soon as the issue is fixed.**
- **Never for cancelled accounts.**

---

## Turning Setup Alerts Off

Any of these stops them:

- Switch off the **Setup alerts** card under Settings → Notifications.
- Click **Turn setup alerts off** at the bottom of any setup alert email.
- Reply **STOP** to a setup alert on WhatsApp.

Your other notifications are not affected. They are set per category on the [Notifications](notifications.md) page.

Agency client accounts never receive setup alerts.
