# Get a Signed DPA

If your company's legal or IT team is reviewing DM Champ, they will often ask for a **Data Processing Agreement** (a DPA). It's a standard contract that sets out how we handle the personal data you put through the platform, and it's required under data-protection rules like the GDPR.

You can get a signed copy yourself in about a minute. You don't need to email us or wait for anything — it's a standalone web page, so you can sign it whether or not you're logged in.

## The Short Version

**You already have a DPA with us.** Section 14 of our [Terms of Service](https://dmchamp.com/terms) is a complete DPA, and it applied to your account automatically the moment you accepted the Terms. It doesn't need a signature to count.

So if someone asks "do you have a DPA in place?", the answer is yes, already.

That said, reviewers usually want a document with **their own company name on it and a signature at the bottom**, because that's what they file. So we made a page that produces exactly that, on the spot.

## How to Get Your Signed Copy

1. Go to [dmchamp.com/dpa](https://dmchamp.com/dpa).
2. Fill in your organisation's **full legal name** and **registered address**, exactly as they appear on your company records. These get printed on the agreement as you type them.
3. Add the **name, job title and email** of the person signing.

:::

4. Optionally add a **handwritten signature** — draw it with your mouse (or your finger on a phone), or upload a PNG image of it.
5. Tick the box to confirm you're allowed to sign for your organisation.
6. Click **Sign and download the DPA**.

The signed PDF downloads straight away, and we email a copy to the address you gave, so it's easy to forward to whoever asked for it.

You don't need to be logged in, and you don't need an account. If your legal contact is the one handling the review, you can just send them the link.

## Do I Have to Draw a Signature?

No. Ticking the box **is** your signature — an electronic one, just as valid as ink under EU rules. The document is fully signed either way, and it records the date, your name and email, and a reference number as proof.

The handwritten option is there purely because some reviewers like a document to *look* signed. Add one if that's your situation, skip it if not.

Our side is always signed either way: every copy comes with our signature on it before it reaches you.

## What's in the Document

The PDF contains the full agreement text, already signed by us, with your organisation named as the data controller. It covers:

- Who is responsible for what (including if you're an agency reselling to your own clients)
- What data gets processed, whose data it is, and why
- Our obligations when handling it
- The other companies we use to run the service, and where they are
- Telling you within 24 hours if there's ever a data breach
- Your right to audit us once a year
- Our promise not to train AI models on your data

It also includes three annexes with the processing details, our security measures, and the current list of sub-processors.

## Keep the Reference Number

Every signed DPA gets a reference like `DPA-2026-4F9A2C`, printed on the document and included in the email. If you ever need us to re-send your copy, quote that number and we'll find it right away.

---

## If You Need More

Some reviews ask for extra paperwork on top of the DPA, like the **Standard Contractual Clauses** or the **UK International Data Transfer Addendum**. We have those and we're happy to send them over. Just email [hi@dmchamp.com](mailto:hi@dmchamp.com) and tell us what your reviewer is asking for.

The same goes if your company name uses a non-Latin alphabet. Our document generator can't print those yet, so email us and we'll prepare your signed copy by hand.

## Common Questions

**Does signing this change my Terms?**\
No. The signed DPA restates what's already in Section 14 of the Terms. It doesn't add anything or take anything away. If the two ever disagree, the Terms win.

**Do I need to sign it at all?**\
Only if someone asks you for it. The DPA already applies to your account either way.

**Can my lawyer read it before I sign?**\
Yes. It's the same text as [Section 14 of the Terms](https://dmchamp.com/terms), which is public and readable right now.
