Daily Summaries

Daily Summaries is an AI-generated recap of the previous day’s conversations and activity. Every morning, the system reads through what happened in your inbox the day before — what your contacts said, what the AI replied, where leads moved in your pipeline, where chats stalled — and writes you a short executive summary so you can start the day knowing exactly where things stand without scrolling through every chat.

Prefer to see it? Click through the whole flow:

Turning Daily Summaries on or off. Daily Summaries is on by default for every account. Switch it off under Settings → Features if you don’t use it: no summary is generated from then on, and the page disappears from your sidebar (it comes back the moment you switch the feature on again). If you don’t see Daily Summaries in your sidebar on a managed account, your provider has switched it off for you — ask them to enable it.

Where to Find It

In the sidebar, Daily Summaries sits right below Dashboard. (On a phone the menu is hidden — tap the menu icon ☰ in the top corner first, then tap Daily Summaries.)

A populated Daily Summary showing KPI chips, a Wins, Losses & Improvements card, and a Tasks & Action Items card

A day's summary: KPI chips across the top, then Wins, Losses & Improvements and Tasks & Action Items cards.

Across the top you’ll see the day’s KPI chips — Conversations, Sent, Received, Alerts, Bookings, New contacts, and Sales — with Previous / Next arrows and a date picker to browse other days, plus a Configure button and a Try again link to reshape or regenerate a summary. Below that, the summary breaks out into five cards: Wins, Losses & Improvements, Tasks & Action Items, Human Alerts & Reviews, Sentiment Analysis, and Booked Meetings & Sales.

What’s in a Daily Summary

Each summary is built fresh overnight from yesterday’s activity and typically covers:

  • Wins and losses — conversations that converted into a booking, a sale, or a closed deal, and the ones that walked away (and why)
  • Tasks and actions — to-dos the AI surfaced or created during yesterday’s chats that need a human to follow up on
  • Human alerts — every chat the AI paused for human attention, with a one-line gist of what the contact was asking for (rolled into the day’s Alerts count)
  • Sentiment — an at-a-glance read on how your contacts felt across the day’s chats (happy, frustrated, confused, neutral)
  • Booked meetings — appointments that landed on your calendar from yesterday’s conversations (the Bookings count)
  • Sales — deals that closed or revenue that was attributed to a chat (the Sales count)

The exact detail you see depends on what actually happened that day — a quiet day produces a short summary; a busy day with lots of inbound produces a longer one. On a very busy day the Wins, Losses and Improvements lists show the most notable conversations of each kind (sales, chats that need a task or a person, unhappy customers first), followed by a line saying how many more there were, so the summary stays readable instead of listing hundreds of chats.

Reading a Daily Summary

  • The page opens on yesterday’s summary by default (today’s is still being generated overnight).
  • Use the date picker, or the Previous / Next arrows, to move to any past day.
  • Click any contact name in the summary to pop the conversation open in a modal — read the chat, reply if needed, then close the modal and you’re right back where you were.
  • Summaries are rendered with proper formatting (headings, bold, lists, links), so the layout reads cleanly and links to internal pages work.

Privacy mode for screen-sharing. If you’ve turned on screen-recording / privacy mode, contact names in the summary are replaced with anonymised labels (Contact 1, Contact 2…) and clicking them is disabled, so you can safely present or record the page. Turn privacy mode off to restore real names and click-through.

Which Language a Summary Is Written In

Every summary is written in one language, picked in this order:

  1. The language in your profile. Whatever you chose under Settings → Profile → Language (or in the language menu in the sidebar) always wins. See Account Settings.
  2. The language your app opens in. If you never picked a language yourself and you use the app on an agency’s own domain, the summary follows the default language that domain is set to, the same one the app is shown to you in.
  3. The language of your AI agents. If neither is set, the summary follows the language your agents are set to, as long as they all use the same one.
  4. English in every other case.

The conversations themselves can be in any language: a summary of French chats on an account set to Spanish is written in Spanish. Tasks the summary creates are written in the same language as the summary.

A change of language applies from the next summary. Summaries already written keep their language until you regenerate them with Try again.

When Summaries Are Generated

Summaries run automatically overnight, so by the time you sit down in the morning, yesterday’s summary is ready — but you’re not locked out of them. You can regenerate any day’s summary with Try again, which is useful after you’ve cleaned up chats or changed your AI agent. If that day created tasks, you’ll be asked whether to delete and recreate them. On a day with no summary yet, a Generate summary button lets you create one on demand.

Two things people often ask about:

  • The summary is what creates the task cards. It isn’t just a report of tasks that already existed — it reads the day’s conversations and adds the action items it finds to your Task board, tagged to the contact they came from.
  • Pausing your AI doesn’t stop summaries. They run every night either way, and they read every conversation from that day, including the ones your team handled by hand. Knowledge items still get created from those (FAQ updates, bug reports, feature requests) — but not “reply to X” cards. If one of you wrote in a conversation that day, or the AI is still handling it and had the last word, the summary won’t add an “assist X” / “answer X” / “follow up with X” task for it: a person is already on that chat, or the AI is, and the auto follow-up covers a contact who goes quiet.

No summary for this day yet — click Generate summary to create one on demand.

If a summary failed to generate for any reason (rare), opening that day will tell you so you’re not staring at an empty page wondering why. A failed summary is not charged and creates no tasks; click Try again to generate it.

Regenerating and Configuring Sections

Click Configure at the top of the Daily Summaries page to shape what your summaries look like — toggle sections on or off, rename them, reorder them with the up/down arrows, add a custom section, and give each section its own custom AI prompt so it focuses on exactly what matters to you. The core Wins, Losses & Improvements section can be renamed or have its prompt customized but can’t be removed; every other section can be turned off or deleted.

Configure sections modal with the Create task cards from action items switch at the top, then a toggle, name field, and optional AI prompt for each section, plus reorder arrows and a delete icon

Configure sections: the task-card switch at the top, then toggle, rename, reorder, and add a custom AI prompt per section.

The same dialog has one more switch at the top: Create task cards from action items. It is on by default. Turn it off and the overnight summary still lists the day’s action items in its Tasks & Action Items card, but adds nothing to your Task board and charges no credits for those cards. Human Alert tasks and tasks the AI creates during a live conversation are not affected, and your Task board itself stays on.

Combined with Try again, this lets you tune a day’s summary and re-run it until it reads the way you want.

What a Summary Costs

Generating a day’s summary uses AI credits, and appears as its own “Daily summary” line in the usage history on your Billing page. What it costs depends on your account:

  • 0.25 credits per summary on accounts that have the Max AI Quality tier available — all AppSumo lifetime plans, and the current Business and Agency plans (see What one AI action costs, by AI Quality tier).
  • 1 credit per summary on other accounts.
  • Free if you’ve connected your own Anthropic API key (BYOK).

Tasks the summary creates are charged too. Reading the day is one charge; each task the summary adds to your Task board costs the same again, and appears in your usage history as its own “Daily Summary Task” line. So a busy day that produces four tasks costs the summary plus four, at your account’s rate. See What Uses Credits.

Two things worth knowing so the charge never surprises you:

  • Quiet days are free. A day with no conversation activity produces a “no activity” summary and is not charged. You’re only charged for days that actually had conversations to read.
  • A summary is charged even if your AI agent never replied that day. Summaries read every conversation from the day, including chats you or your team handled by hand — so a synced channel like WhatsApp Web, which brings your chats into the inbox, can produce a charged summary on a day the agent stayed silent. That’s the summary doing its job (recapping your day), not the AI bot replying.

Your Dashboard reuses the summary’s reading for free. Each summary already rates every conversation as happy, neutral or unhappy. Those counts are kept with the day, and the Dashboard’s Conversation outcomes panel adds them up over the range you pick, so the Unhappy customers tile costs nothing on top of the summaries you already have.

Regenerating a day with Try again is a fresh generation, so it’s charged again at the same rate. And if you’d rather not use Daily Summaries at all, switch the feature off under Settings → Features — nothing is generated or charged while it is off.

Reviewing a Longer Period

One day of conversations is a small sample. A quiet Tuesday can make a one-off complaint look like a problem, and a busy Friday can hide one, so changing your AI agent’s instructions after every summary means changing them back and forth. Review a longer period reads your last 7, 30 or 90 days of summaries together and keeps only what showed up on two or more different days.

Click Review a longer period next to the date picker, choose the period, and click Review. The review reads the stored Wins, Losses & Improvements sections of those days (not the chats themselves) and gives you three short lists:

  • What keeps going well and What keeps going wrong, each with a “Seen on N days” badge. Hover the badge to see the first and last day it came up.
  • Suggested changes, written as concrete edits to your agent’s instructions or FAQs (“Add an FAQ answering delivery times”, “Add to the instructions: …”), each based on a recurring win or loss.

Something that happened on one day only, however big that day was, never makes the list. A period where nothing repeated says so instead of inventing a trend.

Send a suggestion straight to your agent. Each suggestion has a Send to Optimize with AI button. Pick the agent (if you have more than one) and the suggestion is handed to that agent’s Optimize with AI as your feedback. It rewrites the agent’s draft, nothing goes live until you open the agent, read the proposed changes and publish them.

A few things to know:

  • The review needs at least 3 days with conversations in the period. With fewer, it tells you so and nothing is charged. Days with no conversations are skipped.
  • It is written in the same language as your daily summaries. See Which Language a Summary Is Written In.
  • It costs the same as one daily summary (one AI call for the whole period), and appears as its own “Summary Review” line in your usage history. Checking the price and the number of days is free. Accounts using their own AI key are not charged credits.
  • Every review is a fresh reading, so running the same period again costs the same again.

Exporting Summaries

There is no export button: summaries are read in the app, one day at a time, and stay available for any past date you pick. For a view across weeks or months, use Review a longer period above.

If you need them outside the app — for a client report, or an archive of your own — each day’s summary can be pulled through the API, one call per date, and saved wherever you like. See API Access for getting a key and making your first call.

Best Practices

  1. Make the daily summary your first read. Five minutes scanning yesterday’s summary beats fifteen minutes scrolling chats, and you start the day with a clear picture of what needs you.
  2. Click into the contacts that look interesting. The modal lets you read the chat without losing your place — useful for triaging “is this lead actually hot” without context-switching to the inbox.
  3. Change instructions on a trend, not on one day. If the same kind of question keeps showing up in wins/losses or human alerts, that’s a signal to tighten your AI agent’s instructions or add an FAQ. Run Review a longer period first to confirm it really repeats, then send the suggestion to Optimize with AI — your next summaries should show fewer of the same friction points.
  4. Don’t use it as a replacement for live alerts. Daily summaries are great for the morning recap — for time-sensitive items (human alerts, urgent replies) keep your live Notifications on so you catch them in the moment.
